Tempranillo Reserva 2016
Dry red varietal wine from Mirasol Vineyards in Lampasas County.
This ruby red colored wine has aromas of black cherry, prune, cedar, molasses, smoke, cocoa, and ancho chiles. This is a bold wine with lots of tannins and flavors of dark chocolate and pepper.
The grapes were harvested in the early morning hours from Mirasol Vineyard in Lampasas County and transported to the winery for processing. The clean ripe fruit was de-stemmed and lightly crushed and chilled prior to inoculating for primary fermentation. Gentle pump-overs twice daily for period of 6 days before pressing. The wine was settled and racked into both American and French oak for 20 months of aging.
Fermented in stainless steel, aged in both new American and neutral French oak for 20 months.
