Terre Rouge 2014
Grenache harvest begins this blend, with the Syrah following shortly behind. 2014 was a dry year with the Syrah shriveling up a bit prior to harvest. The Mouvedre and Cinsault are harvested some 7-10 days later. All grapes were lightly crushed and cold macerated for 4-7 days prior to pitching fermentation. Pump overs twice daily for duration of primary fermentation helped build structure. Secondary fermentation in neutral French oak with frequent stirring.
Aged in neutral French oak for 16 months
